If you would rather not run it: Austin Water pays $1.00 per square foot of turf converted, on 500 to 3,000 square feet, capped at $3,000 per property. Artificial turf and permeable concrete are ineligible, gravel is capped at a three-foot path plus a 200 square foot patio, and planting must reach more than 50 percent living cover at maturity.
